A Man’s Zone Barber Shop donated $12,200 to New Path Foundation in support of child and youth mental health services. Funds were raised through the 2nd annual golf tournament in support of the Foundation’s Help the 1 in 5 Fund which raises money to support mental health services at New Path.

“Over the past 2 years, Grace Dajo and her team at A Man’s Zone Barbershop have raised over $23,000 in support of child and youth mental health services at New Path through this event,” says James Thomson, President and CEO New Path Foundation. “We are so thankful for the ongoing support that we receive from Grace and her team as well as the sponsors and golfers who came out. 100% of funds raised allow us to continue to provide mental health supports to children, youth and their families when and where they need them.”

1 in 5 Ontario children and youth has a diagnosable mental health concern and research has proven that early intervention is critical. The Help the 1 in 5 Fund was established to bring the community together in support of children, youth and their families affected by a mental health challenge.

“I support this event for a number of reasons that are both near to my heart and family. The fact that mental health is becoming a widely discussed topic makes it is even more important to help our community. New Path’s focus on creating a better Simcoe County specifically through the Help the 1 in 5 fund is really special as it creates a safe place where children and youth can get help without judgement or stigma to start the healing process.” says Grace Dajo, Owner, A Man’s Zone Barbershop Barrie. “Our youth need our help more today than ever to find places where they can get treatment. I am grateful and hopeful that whatever I can personally do at the local level with the help and support of my community will assist this program.”
